Trailer for ‘We’re the Millers’

movies-were-the-millers-first-poster

Here’s another one of those summer movies that have maintained a low profile until now. I didn’t know there was a new comedy starring Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston. Did you? Of course you didn’- wait.

Wait hold on.

Who is that guy on the poster who isn’t famous? He looks familiar…

Holy cow, that’s Will Poulter! The kid from Son of Rambow and the third Chronicles of Narnia movie! He’s all grown up and showing his penis! | Full Story

First Trailer for ‘Don Jon,’ Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Directorial Debut

DON JON

I make fun of people who swoon over celebrities, but the truth is, I felt shamefully excited when Joseph Gordon-Levitt sat right in front of me for the screening of this film at Sundance. I can judge none.

Don Jon, called Don Jon’s Addiction when I saw it at the festival (a better title, in my opinion), is a very nice film. It’s a solidly-made first feature for Levitt, who wrote and directed in addition to starring in it. | Full Story

Trailer for ‘Believe,’ a Series from Alfonso Cuarón and J.J. Abrams

believe-nbc-tv-show

Wait, Alfonso Cuarón created a TV show and no one told me about it?! Well I’m just going to have to check this out posthaste!

Huh.

Okay, so that wasn’t terribly impressive.

There’s a girl with psychic powers and the forces of evil want her and for some reason the only one who can protect her is a death row inmate (he’s innocent, of course), and Delroy Lindo yadda yadda yadda it all looks pretty rote. | Full Story

Trailer for ‘A Field in England’

a-field-in-england-poster-1

Ben Wheatley and his team are among the most interesting fresh talents working today. The US is just now getting a taste of last year’s Sightseers, a strange tale about a boring couple on a boring vacation who begin killing people. Now there’s A Field in England, which is a bit of a departure from the Wheatley team’s previous efforts, being a black-and-white period film. But it still looks to be bleak, surreal, and violent, which is right in line with the rest of their work. | Full Story

Red Band Trailer for ‘The Kings of Summer’

KingsofSummerJumpingOffTsrposter2

This is another one of those movies I really wish I’d caught while I was at Sundance this year, when it was originally titled Toy’s House. This new trailer really sells the modern-day Stand By Me, truth-of-adolescence vibe that it seems to be going for. Plus, Nick Offerman deadpanning is always nice.

Joe Toy (Nick Robinson), on the verge of adolescence, finds himself increasingly frustrated by his single father, Frank’s (Nick Offerman) attempts to manage his life. | Full Story

Trailer for ‘As I Lay Dying’ – James Franco takes on William Faulkner

as_i_lay_dying

Okay, so I had absolutely no idea up until now that this movie was happening. Yes, yes, shame on me, it’s gonna be at Cannes and James Franco is directing it. First: a lot of movies show up at Cannes with little fanfare. Second: James Franco has his fingers in so many movie pies that it’s difficult to keep track of what he’s doing. And yes, that phrase should induce dirty images in your head, since more than one of Franco’s projects deal with pornography. | Full Story

Arrested Development is coming back to the small screen after seven years off air — and now a new trailer promoting the sitcom’s fourth season has made its way online.

The minute and thirty-eight seconds clip features the onscreen reunification of the quirky Bluth family — including Michael (played by Jason Bateman), Lindsay (Portia de Rossi), Gob (Will Arnett), George-Michael (Michael Cera) and other members.

Last year, to the delight of the show’s cult following, Netflix announced that Arrested Development would be making a comeback under its wing. | Full Story

‘Gravity’ Has the Scariest Trailer

Gravity-teaser-poster-550x813

Where have you been, Alfonso Cuarón? You direct Children of Men, one of the best movies of the 00′s, and then you up and disappear for seven years? That’s just cruel.

But now he’s back! In outer space! With Sandra Bullock and George Clooney! As astronauts who are completely stranded after an explosion aboard the space station. You might note something: this is the scariest scenario that a human being can possibly be in. | Full Story

Poster and Trailer for ‘August: Osage County’

August-Osage-County-Poster-550x814

Well folks, here’s Meryl Streep’s Oscar nomination for next year. August: Osage County will continue the grand prestige picture tradition of bringing together a group of distinguished white people to affect Southern drawls and yell at each other.

And what a group of distinguished white people! I won’t bother to restate the list of names that you can see on the film’s poster. Although I will draw attention to one name in particular: Benedict Cumberbatch. | Full Story
