‘Supernatural’ Season 8 Episode 15: “Man’s Best Friend With Benefits”

Supernatural

The week on Supernatural a law enforcement officer named Kevin, who ventured into witchcraft following a case with Sam and Dean, is suffering from bad dreams in which he unfortunately murders harmless individuals. Nevertheless, once the killings really take place, Sam and Dean are called in by Kevin’s “familiar” to assist — however the two brothers aren’t certain they want to help save a witch.

Supernatural follows Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers bound by tragedy and blood to the one thing that runs through both their veins – hunting monsters. This past season, Dean and Sam faced insurmountable obstacles: Sam returned from Hell without his soul, and Dean risked everything to get it back for him. The power struggle between good and evil raged on, with the new King of Hell, Crowley, ultimately emerging as their adversary. Shockingly, Crowley had made a secret deal with Sam and Dean’s closest friend, the angel Castiel, who is now a desperate freedom fighter on the losing side of a post-Apocalyptic civil war in Heaven; together, the uneasy allies sought to open a door to Purgatory, where a great untapped well of souls lie waiting to be used as the ultimate form of military power.

The series stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as Dean and Sam Winchester. The two brothers tour the country searching for their missing father and battling evil spirits along the way.

This season has really had a running theme of what makes a monster, so having Sam and Dean conflicted about helping a witch, makes sense. As moral as they are, I am sure they will help and I can’t wait to see what they discover tonight with my DISH Hopper. Working the night shift at DISH, I unfortunately miss out on my shows when they first air. But I always have my DVR set to record the shows I watch, and I love that I can start watching in one room, pause, and finish in another. This feature really comes in handy when I want to catch up, while getting ready for the next day. This episode sounds like it could give Sam and Dean another opinion on witches, so I can’t wait to come home and find out why Kevin is being targeted.
