CBS is holding on to its hit show NCIS for another go around. The network has recently signed a deal for the series to continue for an 11 season.
“In a world gone niche, NCIS keeps getting bigger, and Mark Harmon continues to define the role of leading man on the #1 show on television,” said CBS president Leslie Moonves. “NCIS is the type of franchise every company wants in today’s global content ecosystem – high-quality storytelling that generates passionate viewers and drives revenue on every conceivable platform.”
After being on the air for a long ten years, NCIS still continues to lead in ratings. The show is currently the number one show on television, averaging 21.48 million viewers, which is up more than seven percent from last year. NCIS also recently performed its second biggest audiences ever, landing 22.86 million viewers, which increased to 25.36 million after DVR L+3 day adjustment. Internationally, NCIS is also a big show, it’s licensed in more than 200 markets.
