New Trailer for ‘The Canyons’ Kicks It Old-School

To say that Bret Easton Ellis and Paul Schrader have taken some creative liberties in promoting their new film, The Canyons, would be quite the understatement. With the film’s latest trailer, the duo have now tackled a style more suitable to the 1950s.

The two first presented audiences with a strange teaser that just showed various places throughout Hollywood set to some pleasant music. While it makes Los Angeles look quite beautiful, no actual film footage was used, and no actual facts were presented in terms of storyline or characters. | Full Story

‘The Hangover’ For College Kids: New ’21 And Over’ Trailer

In 2009, Bradley Cooper, Zac Galifinakis, and Ed Helms starred in The Hangover as thirty-somethings looking to have a good time before their buddy’s wedding only to lose the groom-to-be in a night of drunken debauchery. Now, in 2012, The Hangover writers, John Lucas and Scott Moore, tell a similar story called 21 and Over starring  Miles Teller, Justin Chon, and Skylar Astin. These three co-eds embark on their own Hangover’esque journey, but as twenty-somethings trying to get their friend to a med school interview (instead of his own wedding). | Full Story

New Trailer for ‘The Host’ Surfaces Online

A new full length trailer has been released online for the upcoming film The Host, a new Stephenie Meyer adaptation sure to make any fan shriek with delight and any parent sigh with weariness.

Set in a future not too distant from our own, The Host tells the tale of a parasitic alien soul injected into the body of Melanie Stryder. Instead of carrying out her race’s mission of taking over the Earth, “Wanda” (as she comes to be called) forms a bond with her host and sets out to aid other free humans. | Full Story

Trailer for ‘World War Z’ is More Like World War zzzzzzzzz

This is the kind of world we live in, where I can run articles about trailers for zombie movies two days in a row. Anyway…

World War Z, after a development that moved slower than the shambling of the undead, is finally set for a release next June. And yesterday, a trailer was set loose on the web. So how does it look?

To me… not terribly interesting. The book on which the film is based (which is okay) put a new spin on the zombie genre by focusing on a worldwide struggle between humans and zombies. | Full Story

‘Warm Bodies’ Trailer Looks Bizarrely Not Awful

Warm Bodies was not on my radar. At all. I’ve had my fill of supernatural romance YA stories. But this trailer… this trailer has made me reconsider. The movie stars Nicholas Hoult as R, a zombie unliving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Zombies apparently retain some mental function in this universe, and R falls in love with a living girl, Julie (Teresa Palmer) as soon as he sees her. Which somehow makes him begin to come back to life. | Full Story

New ‘Les Miserables’ Trailer!

At last! After the stellar teaser that was released a few months ago, and some scattered TV spots, we finally have a full trailer for Les Misérables! Tom Hooper’s film, based on the famed musical (based on the classic novel) is drawing ever closer, and it’s probably my most anticipated movie of the rest of 2012. It stars Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, and many more. | Full Story

Arnold Returns to Form in ‘The Last Stand’ Trailer

The iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger is once again flexing his muscles and acting skills with a new, full-length trailer for the upcoming action flick, The Last Stand.

The Last Stand is Jee-Woon Kim‘s directorial debut in America, although he’s already known in South Korea and cult audiences for 2003′s quirky but creepy A Tale of Two Sisters and 2010′s crime drama I Saw the Devil. Luckily, he’ll have such talent as the legendary Schwarzenegger, the forever-versatile Forest Whitaker and the quirky duo of both Johnny Knoxville and Luis Guzman ushering in the film and showcasing his talents to an American audience. | Full Story

‘They Die By Dawn’ Official Trailer Features All-Star Black Cast

Look what we found online! Who Got The Role has unearthed They Die By Dawn, a film that has been a bit obscured from the public — which is kind of strange giving its all-star cast.

They Die By Dawn is a Black Western film starring an entirely African American cast. The film comes from the mind of Jeymes Samuel who also directs.

In the movie, we find four gun-slinging outlaws with a bounties on their heads. | Full Story

New Red Band Trailer for ‘Maniac’

I figured that, after Lord of the Rings, Elijah Wood would be typecast as the pure hero. Not as the creepy/psychotic killer. But between Sin City and this film, well, what do you know. Maniac, a remake of William Lustig’s 1980 film of the same name, follows Frank, an unbalanced man whose balance becomes even more un after the death of his mother, and begins stalking and scalping beautiful women. | Full Story

We Have a Trailer for ‘The Grandmasters’!

It’s seriously been five years since we had a Wong Kar-Wai film? That’s just wrong. The Hong Kong auteur has been taking his sweet time finishing up The Grandmasters, which will finally be opening in December… in China. The rest of us will wait until sometime next year, and hopefully not any longer.

Wong is such a fantastic director that I don’t even care that this film is something like the bazillionth telling of the Ip Man story. | Full Story
