Joaquin Phoenix to Star in Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘Inherent Vice’

A recent article from The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Joaquin Phoenix will be starring in a new Paul Thomas Anderson film titled Inherent Vice.

Based on Thomas Pynchon’s 2009 novel, Inherent Vice follows a 1969-70 pot-smoking detective in Los Angeles as he takes up a kidnapping case. In true Los Angeles fashion, the story is a noir with such quirky characters as Shasta Fay Hepworth, Riggs Warbling, Japonica Fenway and Adrian Prussia. | Full Story

A recent article by Variety named Philip Seymour Hoffman as the new director for the upcoming ghost story Ezekiel Moss.

The story surrounding Ezekiel Moss is still somewhat of a mystery, other than the fact that it was on 2011′s Black List, which lists the most popular unproduced scripts in Hollywood. Second Unsettling Trailer Released For ‘The Master’

The second trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s drama film, The Master has been released. Unlike the first teaser, which honed in on Joaquin Phoenix’s troubled sailor character, this one focuses more on Philip Seymour Hoffman’s portrayal of a titular demagogue.

The movie takes place in the 50′s and features the life of Lancaster Dodd (Hoffman), an uberly charismatic intellectual known as “The Master”.  Dodd becomes the leader of a faith-based, cult-like organization that begins to obtain rapid popularity in the United States. | Full Story
