‘The Host’ Sequel Already In The Works

The Host just premiered on Tuesday at Hollywood’s Arclight Theater, and the word is out writer-turned-filmmaker Stephenie Meyer is already working on the sequel.

The Twilight author says she has begun penning the sequel to her sci-fi alien love tale, but because work on the first book and film, as well as some undisclosed family commitments, things haven’t been going so smoothly.

Based on Meyer’s 2008 novel of the same name, The Host tells of a frightening future in which aliens invade Earth, take over the bodies of most of the human population, and leave people with erased memories and weird blue eyes. | Full Story

A new full length trailer has been released online for the upcoming film The Host, a new Stephenie Meyer adaptation sure to make any fan shriek with delight and any parent sigh with weariness.

Set in a future not too distant from our own, The Host tells the tale of a parasitic alien soul injected into the body of Melanie Stryder. Instead of carrying out her race’s mission of taking over the Earth, “Wanda” (as she comes to be called) forms a bond with her host and sets out to aid other free humans. | Full Story

The sci-fi thriller, The Host, has released its very first trailer online. In the film based on Twilight author Stephenie Meyer’s novel, the human race has been invaded by alien spirits.

Saoirse Ronan plays Melanie Stryder, a human being whose body, like everybody else’s in the world, has become possessed by an alien from the “Souls” race. Stryder doesn’t accept occupation and decides to resist submitting her spirit to the enemy invader named Wanderer, also played by Ronan. | Full Story
