Tod Williams Named as Stephen King’s ‘Cell’ Director

Stephen King is set to see another one of his novels adapted for the silver screen — this time being his bestselling novel Cell, which has finally claimed a director in Tod Williams.

A recent report from Total Film has named Tod Williams as Cell‘s helmer, the man responsible for 2004′s under the radar (and under appreciated) The Door in the Floor and 2010′s Paranormal Activity 2. | Full Story

Stephen King Calls Upon John Cusack for ‘Cell’

A recent article from The Playlist claims John Cusack is making a return to form with Cell, a new horror based on the novel by Stephen King which shares its namesake.

This will be Cusack’s second role in a Stephen King adaptation, the first being 1408 which earned the actor a deserved amount of praise from both critics and audiences. ‘Carrie’ Teaser Trailer Released

The Carrie teaser trailer was finally released and it certainly leaves viewers wanting more. Carrie was adapted from a Stephen King novel of the same name. Carrie first hit the silver screen in 1976  starring Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie. Both women were nominated for Oscars after their performance, perhaps the remake will have the same luck. The 2013 version stars Chloe Grace Moretz as the bullied telekinetic high school student, Carrie, and Julianne Moore as the uber-religious and controlling mother. Read more about the remake here. | Full Story

Scott Derrickson, director of the recent horror hit Sinister, is already in talks to direct another chilling feature. This time, he’ll be working with one of the best contemporary storytellers in fiction, Stephen King.

Derrickson is reportedly in line to direct The Breathing Method, one of the four parts in Different Seasons, a novella originally published by King in 1982. The story revolves around a mysterious gentleman’s club in New York where men gather to tell stories as part of its membership. | Full Story
