Eva Mendes The Place Beyond the Pines

In a recent interview with Moviefone, Eva Mendes discussed her upcoming film, “The Place Beyond the Pines.”

“It’s a thought-provoking film that feels authentic and creates a dialogue. I wanted to go out for this role, and [Director Derek Cianfrance] didn’t feel I was right for it,” said Mendes to MovieFone. “I said, “That’s crazy, I want to go in and audition for it.”

A recent report from The Playlist claims the upcoming film Focus has dropped the starring duo of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, and picked up the actor/director Ben Affleck – if the right female lead can be found.

The story takes place 1949 in Los Angeles, where Brooklyn born mob king Mickey Cohen is in full control of the city. He is making a large sum of money from drugs, guns, prostitution and every numbers racket west of Chicago. Ryan Gosling recently saved a British woman’s life while walking around in New York City. A British journalist reported that the actor “saved” her from being struck by a taxi cab on 6th Avenue yesterday.

The actors says, “It’s the worst! I’m finally at an age — I’m 36 years old — where I really don’t care about anything like that anymore, which is a wonderful thing. Then this happened and then I started to realize just how not sexy I am.”
