Russell Brand will lead the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. Today, the network announced that the 36-year-old actor/comedian has signed on to host the show.

“This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than The Avengers, and you won’t have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out,” Brand said Thursday.

In the past, Brand hosted the MTV Video Music Awards, which may have helped him land lead roles in comedy films such as Get Him to the Greek, Arthur and Rock of Ages, (which will be in theaters this June). | Full Story

New Line has released a new trailer for Rock of Ages.

Rock of Ages is an upcoming movie adaptation of the 2006 Chris D’Arienzo comedy rock Broadway musical, which had the same name. The film takes place in the 80s where it follows waitress Sherrie Christian (Julianne Hough) and busboy Drew Boley (Diego Boneta). During this time, the two fall in love with the rock music era. Thereafter, the duo completely throw themselves into the rock world head first. | Full Story

Russell Brand was arrested in New Orleans Thursday for allegedly stealing from someone. The actor/comedian was accused of grabbing an iPhone from a cameraman and throwing it through a window.

Brand was booked after turning himself into the cops following a police issued arrest warrant. The authorities charged the actor with “simple criminal damage” in the amount of $700.

According to paparazzi photographer Timothy Jackson, he had been taking pictures of the 36-year-old actor with his iPhone when Brand allegedly “flipped out” and snatched the device before throwing it through a lawyer’s office building. | Full Story

Unbelievable! Russell Brand decided to let his ex-wife Katy Perry off easy in their divorce settlement.

According to court documents, Perry and the actor have reached a “comprehensive written settlement of all issues including, without limitation, with respect to the property to be confirmed or assigned to each party.”

Brand, 36, did not take a cent of Perry’s earned fortune. The two did not even have a prenuptial agreement, but the Get Him to the Greek star was still turned off by the idea of splitting the pop star’s money in half. | Full Story

Russell Brand has already started dating another woman, just a couple weeks after his split from wife Katy Perry, according to a report.

Us Weekly reports that not only is Brand dating, but he’s already deemed the young woman as special. “He told her he wanted her to move in with him after the divorce is final.”

The actor filed for divorce from his pop star wife on Dec. 30 citing “irreconcilable differences.” He released a statement saying, “Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. | Full Story

Russell Brand is officially back on the market. The actor has been spotted for the first time since his split from wife Katy Perry.

Last night, Brand hung out with a friend at the night spot Lexington Social House in Hollywood. According to sources, the “Arthur” star looked as though he was having a great time.

Russell Brand has filed for divorce from singer Katy Perry, claiming that they have irreconcilable differences.

“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends,” the actor said in a statement on Friday after filing divorce papers in Los Angeles Superior Court.
