Usher Raymond has been picked to portray Sugar Ray Leonard on the big screen. The R&B singer/actor will play the legendary boxer in the biopic Hands of Stone, a film that centers primarily on Panamanian boxer Roberto Durán (played by García Bernal).

A new red-band trailer for Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s upcoming cop movie, Freelancers, has hit the web.
The crime drama film, starring Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker, centers on the son of a slain NYPD officer (50 Cent) who joins the police academy with his two best friends. Upon graduating from the academy, he is taken into the ranks of a Street Vice Task Force by his father’s former partner, Captain Vic Sarcone (De Niro). | Full Story
Back in 2010 there were talks of a new boxing comedy called Grudge Match that would follow two washed up pro boxers that wanted to duke it out one last time in the ring before they meet their maker. At the time the rumor mills were saying that Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone would star as the two aged boxers. Now it’s been confirmed by The Wrap that the two actors are in negotiations to star in the film that’s schedule to shoot early next year. | Full Story
Michelle Pfeiffer has joined the cast of the upcoming film Malavita. The movie from director Luc Besson already has Robert De Niro attached. Malavita is based on the book “Badfellas” by Tonino Benacquista. The novel is about a mafia family that moves to France as part of a witness protection program.

Last Vegas is based on a group of four retired men who are lured to Las Vegas for a bachelor party by their friend. The friend, after years of being a ladies’ man, is finally settling down and tying the knot with a woman half his age. Robert De Niro has agreed to join Michael Douglas in the upcoming CBS Films’ comedy Last Vegas.
Directed by Jon Turteltaub and written by Dan Fogelman, Last Vegas centers around a group of four retired men who are called on for a Las Vegas bachelor party by their mutual friend. The friend, after 40 years of playing the field, is finally marrying a woman half his age, and subsequently leading the 60-year-old men to Las Vegas for his bachelor party. | Full Story
Rumors are flying around the blogosphere about Oscar nominated director David O. Russel being attached to the Sony Pictures and Atlas Entertainment movie American Bullsh*t.
The film produced by Richard Suckle and Charles Roven and written by Eric Singer, is about a con artist that’s in bed with the FBI to solve a government corruption case, that spans from Atlantic City to Washington DC.
Russel spoke out about the rumors saying,

Robert De Niro and his wife, Grace Hightower, recently delivered a new baby.
Early today, the couple welcomed a daughter, Helen Grace Hightower.
The little girl was born via a surrogate, and a rep for the couple says that she is “a healthy 7 pounds, 2 ounces.” De niro and his wife already have a son, Elliot, who was born March 18, 1998.
The “Godfather II” star also has four other children: son Raphael, 35, and daughter Drena, 40, with former wife Diahnne Abbott. | Full Story
Ashton Kutcher and Lea Michelle should be happy that, despite the negative reviews, ‘New Years Eve came out on top in the box office this weekend. Critics didn’t think much of the film that also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Zac Effron, Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert De Niro. However; moviegoers didn’t agree and came out to theaters anyway resulting in $13.7 million for the star studded romantic comedy.
Jonah Hill’s comedy, The Sitter took second place with $10 million, followed by The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 which stayed alive in third place with $7.9 million. | Full Story
