The controversial July 4th “White People’s Day” tweet by comedian Chris Rock has caused quite a stir of debate around the web. In case you haven’t heard, the actor-comedian tweeted: “Happy white peoples independence day the slaves weren’t free but I’m sure they enjoyed fireworks.”

Showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino has responded to the criticism she and ABC received last week from Grey’s Anatomy creator, Shonda Rhimes.

In the controversial tweet that sparked a plethora of polarized views, Rhimes expressed her discontent with the the ABC family show having no person of color as part of the cast.

Ashton Kutcher has found himself on the wrong side of public backlash against a controversial ad campaign that is being called inherently racist. ‘The Two and a Half Men star appeared in brown face to portray a stereotypical Indian character for a commercial, produced by Zambezi Advertising for potato chip snack company, Popchips.

Kutcher plays four drastically different characters in search of love. One of them, named “Raj”, a Bollywood producer, is portrayed in brown face, stereotypical Indian clothes, and speaking with a sing-songy accent. | Full Story

Academy Award Voters Are Overwelmingly Old White Men Study Says

Winners of Academy Awards are chosen from an exclusive group of Hollywood insiders. But just how exclusive that  group might be may shock some or may not be a surprise at all to the various minority groups in the nation.

According to a study conducted by The Los Angeles Times, the Academy, which consists of  5,765 members, is 94 percent Caucasian and 77 percent male. Only 14 percent of the Academy is younger than 50. | Full Story
