‘Scream’ Coming To Small Screen …Don’t All Yell At Once!

Scream! The hooded, ghost-face-masked villain with a big kitchen knife is back again!!!

At an event, held at the Beacon Theatre in New York, MTV announced it has greenlit a pilot adapted from the hit horror film franchise Scream.

Although the cable network has not found a director or a writer, they expect to bring the horror series to the small screen by summer of 2014.

Dimension Films (owned by the Weinsteins) and DiGa Vision (owned by former top MTV execs Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley) are working with MTV to make the project happen. | Full Story

Just what the world needs, another documentary on how hard it is to be a fabulous pop superstar. Ugh. Leave it to MTV to bring you a entire series on the sparkly, sweaty mess that is Ke$ha. Luckily to save our brains from turning to glittery mush it’s only a mini-series.

DirecTV May Be Forced To Drop Viacom’s 26 Channels At Midnight Tonight

DirecTV and Viacom is currently going through a business war that may force both companies to lose out on millions of dollars in the near future.

Viacom released an official statement stating, “As of midnight on Tuesday, July 10, DirecTV will drop 26 Viacom channels, including Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, VH1, CMT, Spike TV, TV Land and more. Viacom is the most watched programmer on DirecTV. Nickelodeon is the most watched cable network on DirecTV. | Full Story

Russell Brand To Host MTV Movie Awards

Russell Brand will lead the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. Today, the network announced that the 36-year-old actor/comedian has signed on to host the show.

“This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than The Avengers, and you won’t have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out,” Brand said Thursday.

In the past, Brand hosted the MTV Video Music Awards, which may have helped him land lead roles in comedy films such as Get Him to the Greek, Arthur and Rock of Ages, (which will be in theaters this June). | Full Story

MTV Renews ‘The Real World’ And ‘Challenge’ For Yet Another Season

MTV has recently renewed The Real World and Challenge spin-off for another season. This will be the
Challenge’s 23rd season, while The Real World  will be making its 27th season run.

The Real World is a reality TV show on MTV. The series, which was first broadcast in 1992, was inspired by the 1973 PBS documentary series ‘An American Family’. The Real World is the longest-running program in MTV’s history.  It is also one of the longest-running reality series programs ever. | Full Story

‘Bill & Ted 3′ May Really Be In The Works

Actor Alex Winter has recently backed up Keanu Reeves’ recent comments about shooting a third installment of the Bill And Ted movie series.

While talking to MTV about the film Winter said, “I think the reality is there probably will be another one. The movies were always about rock and roll. That was a big part of the movies, so [we’ll explore] what’s happened to rock and roll in the last twenty years.”
