NBC Will Not Be Returning To ‘Mockingbird Lane’

The Munster family is announced dead.  Bryan Fuller’s Mockingbird Lane, an attempt to remake the popular 1960 television show The Munsters will not be returning to NBC as a full series.

“I tweet with a heavy heart,” Fuller tweeted. “NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support.”

The show had a long journey of creation, Mockingbird Lane was originally set for the 2010-2011 development season, but then pushed back a couple times to November 2011 and the summer of 2012. | Full Story

Jerry O’Connell Cast As Herman Munster in NBC’s ‘Munsters’ Reboot

Jerry O’Connell has been cast to play Herman Munster in NBC’s Munsters reboot Mockingbird Lane.

The former Defenders star will play the father in the remake of the 1960′s CBS comedy. The actor’s character is married to Lily, a vampire, and mother of his 10-year-old son, Eddie. A family man and a hard worker, Herman works at a funeral home, and worries constantly about Eddie’s transformation into a werewolf.

Mockingbird Lane is described by the studio as a “reinvention of the 1960s sitcom about The Munsters, a family of monsters — vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein, and their “plain” cousin — that will feature striking visuals in the vein of Fuller’s ABC dramedy Pushing Daisies.”
