‘Prometheus’ Barely Beats ‘Madagascar 3′ To Lead Box Office

Things are heating up in the race to top the box office this weekend. Prometheus was able to edge out Dreamworks’ animation Madagascar 3 after all the sales were in this morning. Both movies are in a very strong position to hit that $50 million mark in the three day time period.

Prometheus opened to an estimated $21.4 million on Friday. That put the film at the 10th highest opening day for any R-rated movie. | Full Story

Chris Rock made an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s Late Night Show to promote his new movie Madagascar 3, but only briefly talked about the movie. It all started with Rock not liking the music that the show’s band, “The Roots”, played during his entrance. He expressed his dislike and politely requested a do-over to a more soulful sound track. “The Roots” happily obliged.

‘Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted’ Trailer Released

A new trailer has been released for Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.

The third edition of this franchise’s animated films will depict the four characters of Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo, and Melman the giraffe. Crazy enough, the foursome end up in Europe on their way back to the tiny island off the coast of southeast Africa. In order to make it through Europe unnoticed the group becomes part of a traveling circus act. | Full Story
