A recent report from MTV showcases director Robert Rodriguez announcing that both he and longtime collaborator Antonio Banderas may be bringing the famed Mariachi character back to the big screen.

The 2013 Sundance Film Festival marks the 20th anniversary of El Mariachi‘s worldwide debut. To celebrate, Robert Rodriguez screened El Mariachi, the indie film that launched the director into stardom and earned him two sequels —  1995′s Desperado and 2003′s Once Upon a Time In Mexico. | Full Story

The upcoming film, which will feature the Hollywood badboy, Charlie Sheen, as the Presisent of the United States, has received its release date. Open Road is slated to deliver Robert Rodriquez’s Machete Kills on September 13, 2013.

Machete Kills is a sequel to the film Machete, and is centered on a arms dealers/Mexican cartel leader. In the film, the U.S. government tries to anxiously put a stop to Danny Trejo’s character, who is a former Mexican federales who disgraced the agency by turning into a cartel criminal. | Full Story

Charlie Sheen Joins ‘Machete Kills’

Charlie Sheen is returning to the big screens. The Hollywood star has been cast in Machete Kills as the President of the United States. Both Sheen and Robert Rodriguez announced the casting on their Twitter pages.

“I just cast Charlie Sheen in #machetekills as the President of the United States! Who better? More soon..” Rodriguez tweeted along with posted photo of himself and Sheen. Sheen later retweeted Rodringez’s post along with a comment of him saying, “My fellow Americans.”

Zoe Saldana Signs On To Play In ‘Machete Kills’

Zoe Saldana has landed a role alongside Danny Trejo in Machete Kills.

Trejo spilled the beans about Saldana’s casting during a recent interview. “Machete Kills is going to be a lot more over-the-top than Machete,” said Trejo. “We’ve got Sofia Vergara, who is a star in her own right, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Zoe Saldana — and guess what? I get to kiss all of ‘em.”

Mel Gibson is closing a deal to join the cast of Machete Kills, Robert Rodriguez’s second edition to his 2010 film Machete.

Machete Kills is based on the U.S. government trying to stop a cartel leader and arms dealer who have a weapon in space.
