Hailee Steinfeld has been cast opposite Kevin Costner in an untitled new thriller. Deadline.com also reports that McG, known for Charlie’s Angels and This Means War has signed on to direct for EuropaCorp and Relativaty Media.

Kevin Costner plays a service agent who finds out he’s dying. He tries some experimental drugs which could prolong his dwindling life span, however suffers from hallucenitory side effects. He decides to go on one last mission before he dies and reunite with his estranged daughter, played by Steinfeld. The plot of this untitled thriller sounds interesting enough, I’m intrigued to hear more details as the movie production goes underway. | Full Story

Kevin Costner, McG Team Up for Secret Service Film

Fresh off an Best Actor Emmy for his role in the miniseries “Hatfields & McCoys,” Kevin Costner has signed on to a new Secret Service action film from scribes Luc Besson and Adi Hasak. Director McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation) has also signed up to direct. The untitled thriller is being produced by Relativity Media and EuropeCorp, which are also teaming on the crime-drama Malavita (coming in 2013). | Full Story

History Miniseries ‘Hatfields & McCoys’ Ends With Record Ratings

The Hatfields and McCoys had a family feud that proved to be great for TV and the the History channel.

The miniseries about the two warring families shattered basic cable ratings records, according to Nielsen Company figures that History released Thursday. After three nights of clan clashing, Hatfields & McCoys reigned supreme as the top-rated entertainment telecast ever for ad-supported basic cable.

Parts one and two of the post civil war drama were at the top of the ratings charts with 13.9 million and 13.1 million viewers, respectively. | Full Story

Hatfields and McCoys weren’t the only things being shot down last night on the History channel. Records were falling like clay targets at a shooting range when History’s three-part miniseries Hatfields & McCoys broke almost all of them with its first installment on Monday night.

Kevin Costner Reportedly Chosen To Speak At Whitney Houston’s Funeral

Kevin Costner has been chosen to participate in the New Jersey funeral of Whitney Houston, his co-star in the 1992 blockbuster The Bodyguard, according to People.com.

The source told People that Costner will speak at Houston’s childhood church in Newark, where the singer and actress sang in the choir and first mesmorized listeners with her voice.

Whitney Houston sang “I Will Always Love You”, the featured song on the soundtrack for The Bodyguard.  Costner played a former Secret Service agent who falls for Houston’s character, a pop star he was hired to protect from a dangerous stalker. | Full Story
