The new trailer for the upcoming comedy film Peeples has been released.

Scandal star Kerry Washington and Hot Tub Time Machine actor Craig Robinson both star in the upcoming movie written and directed by Tina Gordon Chism (Drumline) and produced by Tyler Perry.

The film revolves around a fairly wealthy East Coast family who is in the midst of celebrating a reunion weekend in the Hamptons.  The gathering is interrupted though, when Wade (Robinson) shows up unexpectedly, to propose to his girlfriend Grace (Washington). | Full Story

Tonight’s episode of the TV series is titled “Nobody Likes Babies.” Since the last show featured Mellie giving birth to Fitz’s baby, which was born prematurely, one can assume that the drama will be centered around them. Winners for the 2013 NAACP Image Awards were announced on Friday, February 1 establishing Kerry Washington and George Lucas’ Red Tails as some of the top honorees in the movie category.

The George Lucas-produced drama about the Tuskegee Airmen was awarded the outstanding motion picture prize to which the executive producer exclaimed, “Look! I beat Quentin Tarantino,” as he accepted the award. Just like the theme of “triumph against all odds” rang out in the movie itself, Red Tails soared above a field of competition that included Oscar hopefuls such as Benh Zeitlin’s Beasts of the Southern Wild, Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained and Robert Zemeckis’s Flight. | Full Story

Kerry Washington’s ‘Scandal’ Wins Big Thursday Night

Last night, Kerry Washington’s Scandal was very impressive, dominating the 10pm slot and also registering the second highest ratings ever on ABC for that slot.

ABC released a report boasting the stellar milestone and showing that Scandal took the number one spot for the night. Grey Anatomy, who had the 10pm time slot prior to Scandal, is the only other show to out perform the new hit drama in the time frame. | Full Story

There have been two new clips released for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Last week, The Weinstein Company released their last official trailer for the film, but to keep more buzz surrounded around the project they decidied to put out this new footage.

If anyone has been under a rock for the past six months, Django Unchained is a film set in the 1800s of the Deep South. The character Django is a ex-slave, played by Jamie Foxx, who teams up with Christoph Waltz’s bounty hunter character, Dr. | Full Story

New pictures have been released of, well, just about everyone in Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming southwestern Django Unchained.

Perhaps special attention should be paid to the new looks at Walton Goggins and Don Johnson. Goggins plays Billy Crash, one of Calvin Candie’s slave wranglers, whereas Johnson plays a slave owner named Spencer “Big Daddy” Barnett, the character responsible for employing the men who sold Django and Broomhilda into slavery. | Full Story

Jamie Foxx Says Kerry Washington Got Whipped For Real In ‘Django Unchained’

Jamie Foxx made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday to promote his new film Django Unchained, where he plays a ex-slave turned bounty hunter.

In the video below Foxx talks about how serious the movie actually is, despite the comedic elements seen in the first couple of trailers.

“This movie is really going land heavy. It’s the first Western that acknowledges slavery,” Foxx told Kimmel. “In dealing with the slavery aspect of it, for Black Americans, for our education on what it is, it’s really going to land sincere.”

Early this morning, Kerry Washington and Jimmy Kimmel, (who, judging by his outfit, was recently awakened out of bed to replace Nick Offerman) announced the nominees for the 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Mad Men received 17 Emmy nominations, tying FX’s frightening American Horror Story miniseries for the most mentions this year, according to an AP report.  The AMC series poised to make Emmy history if it wins the best drama series for the fifth consecutive year in September. | Full Story
