After getting 17 nominations at last nights Emmy awards, AMC’s Mad Men left with no hardware at the end of the night to show for it.

The show, that has become AMC’s viewers choice, was overlooked on TV’s biggest stage and even lost to Homeland, in Best Drama Series, Best Actress in a Drama and Best Actor in a Drama categories.

Jon Hamm has landed his first leading role on the big screen.

The Mad Men star has been picked to play the lead in Disney’s Million Dollar Arm, where he will play sports agent J.B. Bernstein, who discovers Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel, (a pair of Major League Baseball pitching prospects) in unconventional territory, India.

After growing tired of the usual baseball scouting in America, Bernstein realizes while watching a cricket game on TV, that major league baseball players could be discovered in the sport. | Full Story

’30 Rock’ Live Shows Boost Ratings (Full Episodes)

NBC’s 30 Rock took a break from its usual filmed format to put on a live broadcast of the show on Thursday night. The move appeared to go over well with fans, rising 7 percent and hitting a six-week high in ratings (3.5 million, 1.6)

This marks the second time in history Tina Fey’s Emmy-winning sitcom went live.  There were two broadcasts for each coast. Depending on which coast you lived on, the guest stars included Paul McCartney, Jon Hamm, Amy Poehler, Kim Kardashian, Jimmy Fallon, Donald Glover and more. | Full Story

Mad Men Racks Up Record Ratings With Season Premiere

After observing the way Mad Men fans flocked to the series’ premiere in record numbers after waiting 17 months, it’s clear  that absence must make the heart grow fonder.

According to AMC, season 5′s two-hour premiere drew record ratings, making it the most watched episode ever for the series. The network says from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., Mad Men drew 3.5 million viewers, a 21% improvement from the season 4 premiere. | Full Story
