Oh no she didn’t. Word on the street is that American Idol producers were courting Jennifer Lopez to replace Mariah Carey mid-season to help bolster plummeting ratings. Apparently this secret plot was thwarted when Carey’s team threatened legal action if said changes occurred.

Z finger snapping aside, this rumor is nothing but a steaming hot pile of gossip. According to The Hollywood Reporter, one Fox spokesperson said, “This is just another ridiculous Idol rumor.” Even producer Nigel Lythgoe denies any sort of involvement in a Jennifer Lopez coup d’état. | Full Story

Jennifer Lopez Gets New ABC Show 'The Fosters'

With American Idol in the rear-view mirror, Jennifer Lopez has a new gig, now that ABC Family has picked up her new drama pilot.

ABC Family announced today that Lopez’s hour-long family drama, currently titled, The Fosters, has been given the green light. The show, created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige (Emmett on Queer as Folk), follows the story of a multi-ethnic family made up of both foster and biological kids. | Full Story

The untitled series is based on a lesbian couple who abruptly have their already child heavy household turned upside down when an alternating teenage girl moves in.

Jennifer Lopez will likely be calling it quits from American Idol after the completion of  season 11 next week , according to a report by E!

A source reportedly told E! that Lopez is way “too busy” to do another season of American Idol.  Along with having to care for twins and promoting her upcoming movie, What To Expect When You’re Expecting, Lopez will be on a world concert tour with Enrique Iglesias this summer.  The auditions for season 12 of American Idol will be kicking off around the same time. | Full Story
