Welp, the ink is probably still drying – Jimmy Fallon just closed a deal with NBC that will have him replace Jay Leno on The Tonight Show. 

While Fallon has a successful late, late night show, he admits, “I’m really excited to host a show that starts today instead of tomorrow.” While it’s clear Fallon is eager to take over the 11:30pm spot, he’ll have to wait until spring of 2014. NBC has finally released information regarding Jay Leno’s pay cut from the Tonight Show.

Last month, news surfaced that Leno took a pay cut to prevent over 20 staff layoffs from the show. NBC was looking to slice the Tonight Show‘s $100 million budget to about 80 million. News broke that the long awaited 24 movie was being pushed back over scheduling, budget and financial issues. The actor made an apperreance on NBC’s The Tonight Show With Jay Leno to promote his new TV show Touch. Leno asked Sutherland, “What’s going on with the 24 movie?”
