Okay, so I had absolutely no idea up until now that this movie was happening. Yes, yes, shame on me, it’s gonna be at Cannes and James Franco is directing it. First: a lot of movies show up at Cannes with little fanfare. Second: James Franco has his fingers in so many movie pies that it’s difficult to keep track of what he’s doing. And yes, that phrase should induce dirty images in your head, since more than one of Franco’s projects deal with pornography. | Full Story
…for a movie role, of course. Emilia Clarke, most commonly known as Daenerys Targaryen on HBO’s Game of Thrones, will finally be playing a role from this world (and century). She will star in James Franco’s latest film, The Garden of Last Days, based on an Andre Dubus III novel of the same name.

A new trailer has been let loose on the internet for Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers. Korine is best known for writing and directing supremely odd films, often featuring some pretty explicit and disturbing content, has touched something of the mainstream here. After all, it stars James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens, and Selena Gomez. Of course, Franco is playing a thug with cornrows, a grill, and a Southern accent, and Hudgens and Gomez are part of a girl gang that pulls off robberies, so it’s a loose definition of “mainstream.”

A recent article from EW.com has given audiences perhaps the first sneak peak of a commercial, showcasing a tiny amount of footage from Oz the Great and Powerful.
Oz the Great and Powerful isn’t set to hit theaters until March 8, but the promotional campaign seems to be in full swing. Accordingly, the production hopes to make its mark at the Super Bowl. Spring Breakers preview photos and clips have already hit the web, but A24 and Annapurna Pictures have just released the first, full-length trailer for the star-studded comedy crime drama.
The film follows four college-aged girls Faith (Selena Gomez), Candy (Venessa Hudgens), Brit (Ashley Benson), and Cotty (Rachel Korine), who were best friends since grade school. The four dorm-mates are troubled that their lack of finances may jeopardize their ability to enjoy a Florida Spring Break vacation the way any college kid would. Since missing out on all that fun was too much to bare, the group decided to pay for their expenses by doing the unthinkable — they rob a fast food restaurant for the cash. Ultimately their beach partying comes to a tragic end when they find themselves in jail, busted for drugs. However, their troubles doesn’t stop there, after Alien (James Franco), a drug and arms dealer, bails them out to do some dirty work the girls get a wilder Spring Break ride than they could ever have anticipated. | Full Story

Disney has not yet announced which witch is taking the role of playing the wicked witch, whether it’s Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz), or Glinda (Michelle Williams). Although, many assume that Weisz will be taking on the role of the evil monkey calling witch. | Full Story
