There are four superhero movies coming out this year. The Wolverine is the one that I keep forgetting is happening. It’s not the movie’s fault… wait, yes it is. Because I mean, good grief, Wolverine has already been the star of four other movies. I tire of this hairy immortal Canadian with metal claws.

Unleashed ‘The Wolverine’ Teasers Hint Tougher Hugh Jackman

Prepare to be teased, but don’t blink or you’ll miss it.

Yesterday two new The Wolverine posters showing a flexed out Hugh Jackman were released. Since then a six-second “tweaser” and a 20 second teaser of The Wolverine have also been released, confirming that this may be the toughest version of Hugh Jackman’s metallic-clawed X-man we’ve seen to date.

Hugh Jackman To Star In ‘Six Years’

The Les Miserables and X-Men superstar, Hugh Jackman, was cast in his first new role since his Oscar nomination. The actor was just cast in Paramount’s newest project Six Years, based on a novel by New York Times Bestselling author, Harlan Coben. Jackman, a man of many talents, is certainly in high demand these days, so Six Years must be something special.

Peter Dinklage May Join ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’

X-Men director, Bryan Singer, has his sights set on Peter Dinklage for  X-Men: Days Of Future Past.  Nothing is confirmed yet, but according to a Deadline.com exclusive, if Singer has his way, Dinklage will join the cast.

Peter Dinklage has an Emmy for his performance as Tyron Lannister on the popular HBO series Game of Thrones. The actor also voiced Captain Gutt in Ice Age: Continental Drift, played Liz Lemon’s short-term boyfriend on 30 Rock, and a children’s book editor with a short fuse in the holiday favorite, Elf. 

Including Dinklage in the the mix would add yet another power player in an already stacked cast. | Full Story

The Academy Awards Get Even More Musical

On the heels of announcing Adele’s musical performance in the James Bond tribute, the 85th Annual Academy Awards will also feature a tribute to musicals over the last ten years. Chicago, Dreamgirls, and, of course, Les Misérables will be featured in the segment.

A new image has been released for The Wolverine, showcasing the famous mutant as he bears his teeth and two claws in what has become his most famous pose.

The image was leaked sometime last week, but it was far too fuzzy and low-res to be worth talking about. The newer, hi-res picture looks far more attractive. The picture shows Hugh Jackman as the titular Wolverine in what can only be described as a Japanese style house late at night. | Full Story

Hugh Jackman Confirmed For ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’

It’s official – Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past. This comes as little surprise considering the actor has never passed up an opportunity to don adamantium claws and kick some major mutant and human tail. Last month, Who Got The Role reported Jackman was in negotiations, but X-men director and producer, Bryan Singer, confirmed the news last night. New Poster for ‘The Wolverine’ Released

So… why would Wolverine use a katana? I mean, he already has those claws, so what could he do with- you know what, never mind. It looks cool – that’s all that matters.

Anyhoo, another poster has come out for The Wolverine, which is most definitely the popular X-Man’s first solo movie, and not a sequel to any other movie. Yep. The film, directed by James Mangold, finds Wolverine (Jean Valjean) in Japan, battling other mutants, as one does when abroad. | Full Story

‘Prisoners’ Add More Great Talent By Casting Terrance Howard

Terrence Howard is the latest to join Alcon Entertainment’s Prisoners. No word on what character Howard will be playing yet, but Hugh Jackman is listed as the lead and Jake Gyllenhaal, Melissa Leo, Viola Davis, Maria Bello and Paul Dano are also set to co-star.

Deadline reports that the plot follows “a small-town carpenter Keller(Jackman) whose young daughter and her best friend are abducted. After the police fail to find them, Keller takes the law into his own hands, but in the process runs up against a detective(Gyllenhaal), a hot shot cop with confidence to burn, assigned to the case.”

Aaron Guzikowske is the author of the screenplay, who also wrote Contraband. | Full Story
