Omar Epps Comes Back To TV With ‘The Returned’

Omar Epps signs on to The Returned

The last time we saw Omar Epps on TV he was trying to keep people alive on House M.D.   Now the Love and Basketball actor has signed on to star in another TV role, but this time he will be dealing with people who refuse to stay dead.

As reported by the Wrap.com, Epps is cast in the upcoming ABC drama pilot The Returned, which portrays what happens when the people you have mourned and buried suddenly appear on your doorstep as if not a day’s gone by.”

That 70s Show Kurtwood Smith and Titanic actress Frances Fisher will be co-starring alongside Epps, who will take on the role as immigration agent Martin Bellamy. | Full Story

‘The Big Brain Theory’: Talk Nerdy To Me, Kal Penn

Kal Penn, yes THE Kal Penn of Harold and Kumar fame, has been cast in an entirely different role as a host and producer on Discovery Channel’s newest brainchild The Big Brain Theory. According to Deadline.com, the reality show follows engineers compete for the title of best new inventor and potentially becoming the next Steve Jobs. A Discovery EVP Nancy Daniels stated “With the death of Steve Jobs, I think we all have wondered about the future of American innovation, and who will be the next great technological mind that will have serious impact on our lives.”

On The Big Brain Theory competitors will have 30 minutes to complete a challenge using only their own ideas and intellect. | Full Story

Greg Kinnear Lands Starring Role On New Fox Series

Greg Kinnear is set to star in a new legal drama on FOX, according to our friends at Vulture. 

The actor is making a return to regular television after about 18 years of doing movies and guest starring roles. He did well on the silver screen, appearing in hits like Little Miss Sunshine and As Good As It Gets. Kinnear has also had his fair share of guest starring roles on prime time television, such as his stint on Friends and most recently on the uber-popular sitcom, Modern Family.  While Kinnear typically portrays a funnyman, he’s no stranger to a dramatic TV role. | Full Story

‘House’ Killed With Death Themed Series Finale

TV series House signed off last night after airing the final episode, which was interestingly titled “Everybody Dies.”

The title, a spin on House’s veritable catch-phrase, “Everybody lies,” caused a lot of speculation that House might die during series finale. Everybody who watched the House finale last night discovered there was a death, and a funeral, but it wasn’t what anybody expected.

Producers Decide To Pull The Plug On “House”

Fox has confirmed that producers have decided that this season will be the last for their doctor drama “House.”

“After much deliberation, the producers of House M.D. have decided that this season of the show, the eighth, should be the last. By April this year they will have completed 177 episodes, which is about 175 more than anyone expected back in 2004,” they wrote.

The series stars Hugh Laurie as a rebel doctor who frequently clashes with his co-workers and patients at a New Jersey hospital. | Full Story
