Looks like Ryan Murphy will have yet another provocative series on TV. His latest brainchild, Open, has been ordered to pilot on HBO.

Open is described as “a modern, provocative exploration of human sexuality and relationships,” focusing on “five lead characters, including a married couple of thirtysomethings, the husband’s male co-worker and a woman in her 40s who is a yoga professional,” as first read on Deadline. Provocative? HBO has just confirmed that Game of Thrones will continue to ravish the airways for a fourth season. The show is based on the bestselling book series by George R.R. Martin with stories of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years and only the lust for power is eternal.

Game of Thrones will return with 10 new episodes next year. Details of the new season have not been announced, but Thrones is suspected to take material from Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” saga and “A Storm of Swords.”

Thrones third season debut on Sunday to record breaking numbers, delivering 4.4 million viewers on the first showing and an additional 6.7 million after the reruns aired. Despite the shows massive budget of $55 million per season, the series suffers no budget woes considering its popularity and what it’s makes internationally and in DVD sales. | Full Story

Sarah Jessica Parker Finds ‘The Carrie Diaries’ “Odd”

Sarah Jessica Parker made the role of Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO series Sex and the City, but she isn’t too fond of The CW’s prequel to the series, The Carrie Diaries.

In a recent interview with online magazine The Edit featured on the upscale shopping site Net-A-Porter.com Parker is quick to sing the Diaries star AnnaSophia Robb praises, who plays a younger Carrie. Mark Wahlberg Reveals ‘Entourage’ Cameo, Other Details

Mark Wahlberg has confirmed that he will be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming film version of Entourage, a show the unmistakable actor produced from the ground up via HBO.

“I was written in for a cameo,” he said in a recent interview with Digital Spy. “So if I don’t get cut out I’ll be in there.”

Actress Constance Zimmer is in high demand these days.

Zimmer just landed an arc on the sophomore season of HBO’s The Newsroom. The actress will portray a press spokesperson for the Mitt Romney presidential campaign. She’s no stranger to HBO, Zimmer had a recurring role on Entourage as Ari Gold’s on-again, off-again flame and Warner Brothers executive Dana Gordon from 2005-2011.

HBO Green Lights Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta’s ‘The Leftovers’

HBO has given Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta the go ahead with developing a new drama series, entitled The Leftovers. The new series is based on Perrotta’s book,  also named The Leftovers, which explores a world post rapture-like events and how those left behind are coping.

This will be Lindelof’s first major television project since Lost ended in 2012 and his first foray into cable television. Lindelof first read Perrotta’s novel in 2011 and told Vulture he’s wanted in since then. | Full Story

HBO’s award winning series, Girlswill be back for a third season of awkward encounters among struggling twenty-somethings.

Girls writer/executive producer/ star Lena Dunham implied the renewal on a podcast with Alec Baldwin earlier this week. She revealed Girls would be moving their set to the soon to be vacated 30 Rock set. Now, per Deadline, the contracts are signed and the news is official. Friday Night Lights alumni, Jurnee Smollett, will encounter the supernatural as she joins the True Blood cast. The actress was recently cast as a regular for the show’s upcoming sixth season and will be joined by 90210 star Amelia Rose Blaire, who also just landed a role on the HBO hit television show.
