HBO’s award winning series, Girls, will be back for a third season of awkward encounters among struggling twenty-somethings.
Girls writer/executive producer/ star Lena Dunham implied the renewal on a podcast with Alec Baldwin earlier this week. She revealed Girls would be moving their set to the soon to be vacated 30 Rock set. Now, per Deadline, the contracts are signed and the news is official. In this tongue-in-cheek ad seen on The Wrap, Lena implores viewers to think carefully about to vote for, she states ”Your first time shouldn’t be with just anybody. HBO has awarded both Veep and Girls with second seasons, just weeks after each show debuted the first episodes of their freshman run.
Veep stars Seinfeld’s Julia Louis-Dreyfus as disenfranchised Vice President Selina Meyer, while Tony Hale and Anna Chlumsky play in supporting roles. The HBO dramedy was created by Armando Iannucci, co-writer of In The Loop.
