Of all the judges who should leave American Idol, Randy Jackson probably would have been my last choice.
Jackson announced last night that this season of American Idol would be his last. The judge tweeted, “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. Oh no she didn’t. Word on the street is that American Idol producers were courting Jennifer Lopez to replace Mariah Carey mid-season to help bolster plummeting ratings. Apparently this secret plot was thwarted when Carey’s team threatened legal action if said changes occurred.
Z finger snapping aside, this rumor is nothing but a steaming hot pile of gossip. According to The Hollywood Reporter, one Fox spokesperson said, “This is just another ridiculous Idol rumor.” Even producer Nigel Lythgoe denies any sort of involvement in a Jennifer Lopez coup d’état. | Full Story
Gleeks rejoice it’s official, there will be a 5th AND a 6th season of your beloved show!
After weeks of negotiations, no news, and nervous fans Fox finally announced that Glee will be returning for at least two more years. Now that’s a lot of over the top musical numbers, absurd plot lines, and Sue Sylvester jokes.

As pilot season is rapidly coming to an end, Omar J. Dorsey snags a role on Fox’s pilot Rake playing Roy the bookie.
Rake follows the chaotic world of criminal defense lawyer Cleaver Greene. He’s a brilliant, iconoclastic, innately self-destructive, with mind-numbing lack of discretion and a total inability to pause before speaking his mind kind of guy. Cleaver counsels bigamist to cannibals and everything in between, but the clients Cleaver loves most are the ones whose cases appear to be utterly hopeless. | Full Story
Christopher Meloni, the Law & Order: SVU vet, has just taken a deal to star in a FOX untitled comedy. Meloni in a comedy? Well, before most of us was born (joke), Meloni began his career in comedies films. He played major roles in sitcoms, The Fanelli Boys, Dinosaurs, and The Boys.
When it comes to this single camera pilot, Meloni will play Jack Dunlevy, a no-nonsense guy who until recently been the go to work early and come home late kind of guy. | Full Story
The avant-guard fashion icon and actress Chloë Sevigny landed an arc on a prime time TV sitcom for the first time, well, ever. She’ll be making a guest arc on The Mindy Project as the photojournalist ex-wife of Danny (Chris Messina), Christina.
As seen on Vulture, The Mindy Project will be Sevigny’s first prime time television experience. Sevigny is known for her role as a sister wife on HBO’s controversial drama Big Love. | Full Story
Well Felicity Huffman sure wasn’t a stay at home mom for long. The actress is making a triumphant return to television this fall in Fox’s new show Boomerang.
Huffman is known for her portrayal as the business savvy mom of 4, Lynette Scavo, on Marc Cherry’s recently retired Desperate Housewives. However in Boomerang Huffman will not only be sporting an apron, but chances are there will be a gun neatly tucked in her front pocket. | Full Story
Tommy Dewey has been the latest cast in Fox’s upcoming 6 episode, multi-camera comedy series, Dads.
The series is written by Ted writers, Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, and will be produced by funnyman and Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane. Dewey, who has recently been seen in a few episodes of the Fox freshmen comedy The Mindy Project, will play Warner. Warner is a 30-something family man and co-owner of a video game company, whose life is completely changed when his ill-mannered father, Crawford, moves in with him. | Full Story
New Girl fans will get a glimpse of what made Nick Miller (Jake Johnson) the lovable curmudgeon that he is. Later this season the loft takes a trip to Nick’s hometown of Chicago, where they’ll have the pleasure of meeting all of the Miller’s.
Of course, we’ve already met Nick’s con man dad, played by Dennis Farina, when he swindled Jess into buying him a horse earlier this season. Emma Roberts will be back on the television screen as she gears up to play in the new Fox drama Delirium.
The former star of Nickelodeon’s Unfabulous, has been casted to play the lead role in the Fox pilot from Karyn Usher, 20th TV, and Chernin Entertainment, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Based on Lauren Oliver’s best-selling trilogy, Delirium is about a world where love is deemed illegal and special procedure are but into play to prevent the possibility. | Full Story
