Man, these parodies of Oscar bait movies just get more and more convincing! This fake trailer for The Butler posits a movie based on the real life of Eugene Allen, who served as a butler in the White House for over 30 years, from the 1950′s through the 80′s. Forest Whitaker plays “Cecil Gaines,” Allen’s fictional counterpart, while Oprah (Oprah!) plays his wife.

Frutivale is a film which has been getting plenty of buzz lately. A few days ago the movie won multiple accolades after debuting at the Sundance Film Festival. Prior to that, it had five major Hollywood distributing companies fighting for its rights. Now, there has been footage released of the movie, to showcase part of why everyone went so crazy over the film at the festival.

Last night, the Sundance Film Festival wrapped up its 2013 event with the annual awards ceremony. Ryan Coogler‘s Fruitvale, actual made history at the function, winning two prestigious awards in its category.

After all the nukes were dropped and the smoke cleared The Weinstein Company was the only organization to survive the intense battle. According to the Variety, The Weinstein Company won the auction war for the film by reportedly dropping a bomb worth between two to three million dollars, including commitments to a wide theatrical release. | Full Story
The Weinstein Company have picked up the U.S. rights to his star-studded, historical drama “The Butler.” The Butler centers around Eugene Allen, a butler who worked at the White House from 1952 to 1986, serving under eight presidents. Lee Daniel’s film ‘The Butler’ has met a match that’s too big to handle. Production for the upcoming film has been shut down for a few days. Isaac, the category 1 hurricane which recently hit New Orleans, is the culprit behind the temporary set-backs.

Michael B. Jordan is now being considered for Forest Whitaker’s independent film about a man shot and killed by Bay Area police in 2009.
Fruitvale tells the story of Oscar Grant, a 22 year old black man that was detained on New Year’s Day of 2009 by police officers at the Fruitvale station, and then murdered with a gun shot wound to the back. Forest Whitaker and Woody Harrelson are the latest thesbians to jump aboard Scott Cooper’s Out of the Furnace. The two actors will join Christian Bale, Sam Shepard, Zoe Saldana and Casey Affleck to top off the A-list cast.
Whitaker, who won an Academy Award for Best Actor (The Last King of Scotland), will play Sheriff Wesley Barnes of the mill town, Braddock. PA. Harrelson will play the crime boss Harian DeGroat. | Full Story
