‘Identity Thief’ Beats ‘Snitch’ For Top Box Office Spot

The Rock, starring in his crime thriller Snitch didn’t prove solid to take over the box office this weekend. Well, actually, it was on top at first but succumb to Universal’s comedy Identity Thief as it regained the top spot.

Identity Thief was propelled back to number one with a $14.1 million bump Saturday. That now brings the films total gross to a hefty $93.7 million in only three weeks. So far, Identity Thief is the highest grossing film of 2013, just beating out Django Unchained. | Full Story

Summit Entertainment has debut the new movie poster for upcoming movie Snitch, that stars Dwayne Johnson. Johnson will play in the Ric Roman Waugh’s action-thriller based on true events about a father who goes to great lengths to free his son from a 10 year prison sentence for a drug distribution crime.

Paramount Pictures has just released a new poster for the their upcoming, Michael Bay directed, Pain & Gain film.

The film stars a very jacked Dwayne Johnson and a pudgy looking Mark Wahlberg. Based on a true story, Pain & Gain follows a group of bodybuilders in Florida, who engages in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder, which ultimately gets uncovered by a reporter from the Miami New Times.

The film also stars Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Tony Shalhoub, Bar Paly, Rebel Wilson, Ken Jeong and Yolanthe Cabau. | Full Story

Paramount has just released a new poster for G.I. Joe: Retaliation and this may be the efforts of the studio to keep the film relevant, or on moviegoers minds since Retaliation was suppose to be out months ago.

Do you smell what The Rock is cooking? Well, if not, let me tell you what’s on the menu. The wrestler/actor has recently landed an action-packed reality series on TNT titled, The Hero.

The Hero will attempt to find a “true hero” by pushing ten contestants beyond their personal and physical limits. The players will live together in one house and compete in different missions that will “test their brains, their brawn and even their morality.” The series will also see how far contenders are willing to go for the sake of their fellow contestants. | Full Story

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson In Talks To Play DC Comics Character Lobo

The Rock confirms he is negotiating to play the alien mercenary Lobo in a DC Comics film.

 

Although most of the Marvel and DC superhero movie news has been coming out of Comic-Con in San Diego,  Dwayne ‘The Rock Johnson has some comic book film news of his own.  The actor turned wrestler confirmed, via Twitter, he is currently in negotiations to play the DC character Lobo.

The first photos of Liam Hemsworth and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the indie drama Empire State have surfaced.

The film centers around two childhood friends and a NYPD officer who stands in the way of them robbing an armored car company of all the money stored on the premise. Empire State is based on a real life heist that took place in 1982.
