Universal has just launched the new trailer to Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg’s action adventure 2 Guns. The film is a real action film with a heavy lean towards comedy, which is uncharacteristic of the two-time Academy Award winning Washington.

With the Oscars wrapping up a few days ago, it’s hard not to reflect over the nominees, winners and how somethings didn’t seem to add up. Ben Affleck isn’t nominated for Best Director, but Argo wins Best Picture.  I guess they loved everything about the film,  just not necessarily the directing. Sounds crazy, right?

The legendary Pittsburgh playwright August Wilson, may finally get his wish. Well, he past away back in 2005, so he’s not here to see it come into fruition, but his award-winning play Fences may finally be turned into a Hollywood film.

Fences is a 1983 play set in the 1950s, which explores the evolving African-American experience and examines race relations, among other themes. It focuses on Troy, a 53-year-old head of household who struggles with providing for his family and with his obsession with cheating death. | Full Story

Flight have been generating some good buzz since it’s debut on November 2nd, but not everybody is pleased with the attention the film has gotten.

Budweiser and Stolichnaya are unhappy at the way their products are portrayed in Flight, claiming the movie links their beverage to alcoholism and drunk driving. Now the companies have some demands for the studio.

Last Sunday, Denzel Washington starred Flight premiered as the closing night film of the New York Film Festival. Subsequently, there has been Oscar talk of an anticipated battle between Washington and Daniel Day-Lewis, from the film Lincoln, which will open on November 9.

In the Robert Zemeckis directed Flight, Washington plays a commercial airline pilot with a drinking and substance abuse problem, which comes to light after he executes an emergency landing, rescues the passengers, and becomes a big hero. | Full Story

But the beloved director returns to the land of the living on November 2nd with Flight. The movie stars Denzel Washington as an airplane pilot who pulls off a Captain Sully-esque feat in safely landing his catastrophically damaged plane. Safe House screen-writer David Guggenheim, has recently brokered a new deal with Universal Picture to pen the sequel to the hit 2012 film.

Safe House starred Oscar award-winning actor Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. The action thriller revolved around:

Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington), an ex-CIA agent turned international criminal, who acquires a file from renegade MI6 agent Alec Wade (Liam Cunningham). NY Film Festival Positioning Of ‘Flight’ Hints Oscar Worthy Performance By Denzel Washington

The upcoming Robert Zemeckis mystery thriller, Flight, starring Denzel Washington is set to close out the 50th Edition of the New York Film Festival.  The announcement may suggest that Paramount has high hopes the film will be a major Oscar contender come award season.
