The first official photo from Lee Daniels’ The Butler has come online featuring lead actor Forest Whitaker as The Butler.
The Oscar winning actor will play Eugene Allen who worked at the White House for 34 years. The African American butler served a total of eight American presidents, observed the civil rights movement, and was brought back after he retired to witness the inauguration of the country’s first black president, Barack Obama. | Full Story
Cuba Gooding Jr. has dodged a bullet. The Oscar winning actor, who was accused of shoving a bartender, will not have to face misdemeanor battery charges because his accuser has dropped the charges.
According to Huffington Post, the New Orleans city attorney’s office was forced to drop charges against Gooding after no one showed up to press a complaint at the arraignment hearing held Friday, August 3, 2012.

Cuba Gooding Jr. has booked the lead role in Fox’s new legal pilot Guilty.
Guilty centers around William “Billy” Remz (Gooding), an ethically challenged defense attorney who is stripped of his license for a conviction of a crime he didn’t commit. Thereafter, he uses the skills he learned while practicing to solve old cases that he’s been banned from, while attempting to catch the people who set him up.
If the show makes it into syndication, this will be the former Oscar winner’s first recurring job on a television series. | Full Story
“Red Tails” rose above Hollywood’s expectation on its opening weekend with a very respectable $19.1 million debut. The $58 million George Lucas’ passion-movie, starring Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding Jr., captured second place behind “Underworld Awakening 3D”.
The strong debut of the Tuskegee Airmen film put it above other comparable fighter pilot movies such as Stealth ($13.3 million), Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow ($15.6 million), and Flyboys ($6 million). | Full Story
David Oyelowo joins the cast of Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln‘ He will play the role of calvalryman. Oyelowo is a busy man these days, agreeing to do the Spielberg project while currently shooting the Christopher McQuarrie directed ‘One Shot‘ starring Tom Cruise. Oyelowo plays the lead detective investigating a sniper massacre in Pittsburgh.
In addition, Oyelowo just wrapped Lee Daniels’s ‘Paperboy‘ and will be seen next starring in George Lucas ‘Red Tails,’ a drama about a group of African Americans pilots called the Tuskegee airmen, whom has to fight home grown racism in order to fight for their country during WWII. | Full Story
