Colorado Theater Shooter James Holmes Charged With 24 Counts of Murder, 116 Attempted Murder

James Holmes has been charged with 24 counts of murder by Colorado prosecutors. Holmes is the man accused of killing 12 people and injuring 58 others at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado.

He was also charged with 116 counts of attempted murder and possession of an explosive device, after police discovered his apartment was booby trapped to kill officers that entered his apartment.

A The Dark Knight Rises midnight showing has become the scene of a real life tragic drama after a gunman reportedly opened fire in a crowded theater, killing 12 people and injuring 50.

According to various reports,  a man wearing a bulletproof vest, gas mask, and dressed in all black set off tear gas and opened fire at approximately 12:30 a.m., at a midnight premiere of the film  in Aurora, CO. | Full Story
