The brand new movie poster to the popular novel turned movie Catching Fire has been released.

The Catching Fire poster displays Jennifer Lawrence, who portrays Katniss Everdeen, as she poses next to her co-star Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta Mellark, both wearing white-silverish clothing and standing with a stern look on their faces.

The poster was created to help celebrate the duo’s victory in the 74th Hunger Games, which was shown in the first film. | Full Story

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the most anticipated upcoming film of 2013, according to a poll taken by the movie ticketing service, Fandango.

Fandango  surveyed more than 2,000 movie-lovers last week, asking questions about upcoming films and stars.  The results were compiled into several lists and then released on Tuesday in the 2013 Hot List.

Unsurprising to loyal Hunger Games fans, the sequel Catching Fire tops the chart on most anticipated films, even stumping The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which has a few fans disagreeing. | Full Story

Lionsgate has opened up a tap of information on their plans for The Hunger Games sequels. The studio has confirmed that Oscar winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman will be joining the cast of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Shortly after, Lionsgate  noted that Mockingjay, the final novel in the Suzanne Collins’ trilogy, will be split into two  separate films titled The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2. | Full Story

Jena Malone To Play ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is currently in the works, and the casting of new characters are now in the process. According to sources, Jena Malone will play Johanna Mason, a role that will also continue into The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. The new film is expected to  split into two sections, released in 2013 and 2014.

Frances Lawrence will be Directing The Hunger Games Sequel Catching Fire

Lionsgate has chosen Francis Lawrence to direct The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire. The search ended with Lawrence (I am Legend) and Bennett Miller the director behind Moneyball. Lawrence will be replacing Gary Ross, who directed the first film that grossed over a half billion dollars globally.

Lawrence was more appealing for the job due to his open schedule. Miller will soon begin work on Foxcatcher, a project he has invested in for several years. | Full Story

Gary Ross Will Not Direct ‘The Hunger Games’ Sequel ‘Catching Fire’

The Hunger Games franchise is on a desperate hunt for a new director to head their sequel Catching Fire, now that director Gary Ross has stepped away from ‘The Hunger Games’ project. “Despite recent speculation in the media, and after difficult but sincere consideration, I have decided not to direct Catching Fire,” Ross said in a statement.
