Aksel Hennie Cast in ‘Hercules’

Norwegian actor Aksel Hennie is moving up. He starred in last year’s wonderful thriller Headhunters, and now he’ll be making his American debut. He’s joined the cast of the upcoming Hercules movie, which already has Dwayne Johnson attached as the mythological Greek hero.

Now, that’s the good news. The bad news is pretty much everything else that has to do with this project. For one thing, it’s not based on any actual Greek myth, but a graphic novel that “reimagines” Hercules as a normal human being rather than a demigod, in a world bereft of gods or monsters. | Full Story

In Touch magazine tried to jump on a story and falsely alleged that Sandra Bullock was in a “risky new romance” with director Brett Ratner. Both the actress and movie director have dismissed the magazine’s claims as not in accordance with fact.

“We think that it’s incredibly sad that in these times, this magazine would resort to complete fabrication, solely for financial gain,” the two said in a joint statement to E! | Full Story

Brett Ratner Settles Riff With GLAAD

Brett Ratner is taking steps in a direction to make things right with GLAAD.

The “Rush Hour” director has committed to direct a video campaign for the organization.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation pressured the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences to fire Ratner as a producer of the 84th Academy Awards after he used an offensive gay-slur during a press conference for movie “Tower Heist.”

During the event, Ratner said “rehearsing is for fags,” and just as quickly as these remarks flew out of his mouth, NY Magazine published the video that quickly spread all over the web.
