Kevin Hart and his “fake” reality series Real Husbands of Hollywood has been called upon for a 12 episode second season. That means, along with the famed comedian, BET will be clutching stars, Nick Cannon, J.B. Smoove, Duane Martin, Robin Thicke and Boris Kodjoe for dear life. The sketch comedy series boasted over four million views when the com-prov debuted on January 16.

Coming off their last project Sparkle, lovebirds Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil has just inked a new deal with Paramount Pictures for their lastest ambition entitled, Abandonment Issues.

Deadine reports, that Mara Brock Akil will write the script and Salim Akil will direct. The duo will collectively produce the project.

Diggy Simmons Lands New Movie On BET

Diggy Simmons has landed his own Entourage-like pilot on BET. The former reality star is set to star in a two-hour original comedy, which is currently untitled.

BET ordered and green lights the show, where Daniel Dwayne Simmons will play the main character named Blake, and husband and wife duo Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil will direct. The directing team is behind BET’s hit comedy The Game and upcoming original pilot Being Mary Jane, which is set to premiere next year starring Gabrielle Union. | Full Story

DirecTV and Viacom is currently going through a business war that may force both companies to lose out on millions of dollars in the near future.

Viacom released an official statement stating, “As of midnight on Tuesday, July 10, DirecTV will drop 26 Viacom channels, including Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, VH1, CMT, Spike TV, TV Land and more. Lauren London will join the cast of BET’s comedy The Game. The actress will appear as a series regular in the upcoming 6th season.

London joining the cast of The Game will fill the voided spot that Tia Mowry left when she departed the show last month. The actress will play a character named Kiera, who is “a former child star who is currently appearing in a Cosby Show-esque sitcom.”

BET has recently renewed its comedy series The Game for a sixth season. It isn’t official yet, but inside sources say that BET will make an announcement this Thursday, April 11, 2012.

The Game is an American comedy-drama television series created by Mara Brock Akil and produced by Kelsey Grammer. Premiering on October 1, 2006, the series debuted as the only new comedy series chosen for The CW’s primetime schedule. The network  has given the green light for a hour long dramady titled Single Black Female.  The show was created by the Akils, the couple who was behind the hit comedy series, The Game.
