Lifetime has finished their upcoming film Betty & Coretta just in time for black history month. Betty & Coretta stars Angela Bassett and Mary J. Blidge. Bassett, who is known for playing real life soft-hearted characters such as Rosa Parks, Tina Turner, Dr. Betty Shabazz and Voletta Wallace, will play Corretta King Scott, the wife of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blidge, on the other hand, will play Dr. Betty Shabazz, the window of civil rights leader Malcolm X. | Full Story
Yesterday, Angela Bassett announced on her Facebook that she joined Gabby Sidibe in the upcoming Greg Araki directed film, White Bird In A Blizzard.

Bassett posted the picture on her Facebook fan page this afternoon, with a message which read: Mary J. Blige and Angela Bassett in an exclusive set photo as “Betty and Coretta.” Film premieres February 2013 on Lifetime!

Hollywood actress Angela Bassett has joined the cast of the Lifetime movie, Betty And Coretta.
According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Bassett will play King opposite Mary J. Blige, who co-stars as Shabazz in the effort previously known as Parallel Lives. Ruby Dee will appear onscreen as a historical witness to narrate the duo’s story as someone familiar with the events of both their lives. The Nu Image/Millennium’s White House thriller already have Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart starring in it. Butler is slated to play a Secret Service agent trying to stop Korean terrorists who have taken over the White House with plans to detonate a nuclear bomb. On the other hand, Eckhart will play the president.
The commander-in-chief and a few prominent members of his administration will be taken hostage, and Bulter’s Secret Service agent character will try to stop the plot. | Full Story
