Andy Whitfield dies at the age of 39 of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Andy Whitfield who got his break out role as the lead in Starz’s hit show  ”Spartacus:Blood and Sand” appeared in all 13 episodes of the first season. Shortly thereafter he was diagnosed with the deadly cancer. While production waited for Whitfield’s expected recovery they shot a prequel to “Spartacus:Blood and Sand” that the actor did not perform in.
