Chris Cooper joins Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti as villains for Andrew Garfield’s webslinging Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Cooper has been confirmed as Norman Osborn, Parker’s mentor turned bad guy. The rumors of Green Goblin returning are true…sort of.

Jamie Foxx recently announced that he will play the character Electro in the Columbia Pictures’ upcoming film ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2.’

Foxx told Entertainment Tonight, while talking about The Amazing Spider-Man 2 that, “Electro is a great character. I met with the director, Mark Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked. … I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he’s a … genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on.”

Jamie Foxx is an actor who brings a certain flair to all of his roles. The Amazing Spider-man is expected to haul in big superhero numbers by the end of this weekend, according to some bullish box-office observers.

The movie earned $7.5 million from midnight showings during it’s U.S. premiere last night, with $1.2 million of it coming from 300 IMAX screens.
