ABC Family Premieres ‘Twilight’

The beloved Twilight film saga based on the best-selling books by Stephanie Meyer, will premiere the first film of the franchise, Twilight, on ABC Family beginning Saturday, February 9 at 7 PM. ET/PT.  An encore showing will air directly following the premiere at 9:30 PM ET/PT and again on Sunday, February 10 at 7 PM and 9:30 PM ET/PT.

If you are not a “Twi-hard” fan and unfamiliar with the enthralling storyline, then read carefully: In the supernatural romantic drama Twilight the new girl in town, Bella (Kristen Stewart), falls for the hottest guy in school—not knowing the mysterious, elusive Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is actually part of a vampire family, and sworn enemy of Bella’s childhood friend, Jacob (Taylor Lautner). | Full Story

‘Switched at Birth’ To Air All ASL Episode On ABC Family

The award-winning ABC Family drama, Switched at Birth, will air an episode produced entirely in American Sign Language (ASL).  Although Switched at Birth already produces episodes with some sign language, there has not been an episode free of dialogue, yet.  An all ASL episode will be the first of its kind for a scripted series on mainstream television.

Lawsuit Filed Against ABC Family For Stolen Idea

Disney Co. and its affiliates ABC and ABC Family, along with its former director of development Beth Miller, were sued by two TV producers claiming their idea for a Christmas movie was stolen by ABC Family, in Superior Court on Monday.

Producers Beth Grossbard and Barri Rosenblum pitched their story concept to ABC Family and even submitted a formal treatment in 2005 to then director of development for ABC Family, Beth Miller. | Full Story

ABC Family announced today that Lopez’s hour-long family drama, currently titled, The Fosters, has been given the green light. Showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino has responded to the criticism she and ABC received last week from Grey’s Anatomy creator, Shonda Rhimes.

In the controversial tweet that sparked a plethora of polarized views, Rhimes expressed her discontent with the the ABC family show having no person of color as part of the cast.

Pretty Little Liars Picked Up For 3rd Season

ABC Family has reportedly renewed Pretty Little Liars,  according to TVGuide.com.  The network has picked  up the family friendly drama for a 24-episode third season.  Pretty Little Liars returns to TV with fresh episodes on Monday, Jan. 2 (8/7c).
