Steve Jobs Movie To Be Penned By Aaron Sorkin

Aaron Sorkin has been hired to write the movie for Sony Pictures’s biopic about Steve Jobs. The studio announced yesterday that the film will be based on Walter Issacson’s biography of the Apple co-founder.

Last year in October, Jobs died after a battle with cancer. This is a different Steve Jobs’ biopic from the indie project starring Ashton Kutcher.

Reports surfaced that Sony paid $1 million for the rights to the biography, buying it just a few days after the mogul died. | Full Story

Aaron Sorkin’s HBO Series Officially Titled?

Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming HBO drama series, previously named More As This Story Develops, has just received the official title: ‘Newsroom’, according to HBO-related website HBOWatch.com.   However, the name has reportedly not been cleared, despite it being the top choice for the series.

Sorkin writes about a fictional cable news channel ‘UBS’ based loosely on MSNBC’s late ‘Countdown with Kieth Olberman’ telecast. ‘Newsroom’ stars Jeff Daniels as UBS primetime host Will McCallister and Law & Order‘s Sam Waterston as UBS News president Charlie Skinner. | Full Story

Oscar-winning writer Aaron Sorkin may pencil in the words to the biopic about the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
According to E! Online, Sorkin mentioned -while guest speaking at an event in Santa Monica, Calif., that Sony Pictures asked him to write the ‘Jobs’ film.

“It’s something I’m strongly considering,” he expressed to the crowd. “Right now I’m just in the thinking-about-it stages.”

Sony acquired the rights to Walter Isaacson’s unauthorized biography “Steve Jobs“, published in late October. | Full Story
