Over the past few days, Disney has been releasing new character posters for The Lone Ranger via the film’s Facebook page. The posters showcase both already-established characters, such as the eponymous protagonist, played by Armie Hammer, and the Halloween costume played by Johnny Depp, and newer ones, like the presumed love interests, played by Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter, and the presumed villains, played by William Fichtner and Tom Wilkinson. | Full Story
The promo materials keep rolling in for Guillermo del Toro’s giant-robots-versus-giant-monsters blockbuster, and each one only stokes my expectations. Stokes me like a bro. The latest release is a batch of new posters for the film, courtesy of THR.
One of the posters is a classic-style recruitment throwback. Another shows the film’s central giant robot (a “Jaeger”) kneeling over a human. And the other two introduce two other Jaegers, one from Japan and another from Russia. | Full Story
Last Saturday in Burbank, while most people were buzzing about the Super Bowl, a small, select group got to experience something way cooler. They were the audience for the first test screening of Pacific Rim, Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming movie of giant robots, giant monsters, and giant robots fighting giant monsters. Reactions to the screening have been collected on a fan website for the film. There’s a whole lot of love in those tweets and forum posts, which stokes my anticipation for the film even more. | Full Story

Each unique poster was created by a different artist and each represents the, uh, special qualities of the titular psychopathic septet. | Full Story
Killing Them Softly, which stars Brad Pitt as a slick professional enforcer (and made our list of Most Anticipated Movies Coming to Theaters This Fall), just debuted six new posters. Oh, did I just say six posters? I meant six extremely awesome, stylish, custom designed pieces of art I’d like hanging on my wall.
Designed by Gravillis Inc., whose work you might recognize from their striking campaign for Oliver Stone’s Savages and the Inglourious Basterds character posters, these posters emphasize the film’s political commentary on the greed and violence endemic in American society. | Full Story
