Kim Kardashian is taking her very surprising acting career to another level. Sony Pictures announced today that the reality show star will be joining the cast of the Lifetime series “Drop Dead Diva” on a multi-episode deal.
This time the reality star will be an actual character (other than herself). Kardashian will play Nikki, the new love interest of guardian angel Fred (Ben Hoffman), who partners with his ex, Stacy (April Bowlby), on a new business venture.
“Drop Dead Diva” creator and executive producer, Josh Berman, praised the casting choice in a statement:
“I’m ecstatic to welcome Kim to the Diva family. In discussing the role of Nikki with her, I’m blown away by her smarts, sense of humor, and passion. This series is all about reinvention and I’m so excited to see Kim ‘reinvented’ in the world of Drop Dead Diva.”
This is not the first significant role that Kim Kardashian has landed this year. The reality star also will be appearing in Tyler Perry’s new film “The Marriage Counselor”, and also has a guest spot on the sitcom “Last Man Standing”.
“Drop Dead Diva”, which is in its fourth season, depicts a shallow model who dies and is reborn in the body of a plus-sized lawyer. The show begins filming in February.
