Warner Bros. is jostling themselves into the multiple superhero movie market and has officially committed to getting Justice League off the ground. News broke last week, that Ben Affleck topped the list of directors the studio was looking at to direct the film. However, in a interview with Canadian press, Affleck denied any involvement with Justice League.
“It sounds really exciting, but it’s not something I’m working on.”
The Wachowskis name is also being thrown around as possible directors of the film. Their involvement is only rumors for now, but given the Wachowskis and the studios history, plus the buzz following the siblings latest project Cloud Atlas, they could very well a top choice for the job.
The Wachowskis aren’t known for leaping onto other peoples’ projects, preferring to self-generate their own movies, but they have expressed a special affinity for comic book characters.
Also, remember the directing duo also gave Warner Bros. one of their most successful film trilogies of all time, The Matrix.
