Some rumors have been circulating through the fanboy bubble suggesting there’s going to be a stand alone Hulk Movie. As much as I would love to see this happen — it’s been confirmed by Marvel, Marvel’s golden boy Joss Whedon and the current Hulk, Mark Ruffalo — there will be no Hulk Movie.
Ruffalo stated on his own twitter account there are no plans for such a project. The actor also added he won’t even think about the raging monster until The Avengers 2.
The conjured up rumors speculated the prospective Hulk film would follow the Planet Hulk story, already made into an animation series, where the earth strongest heroes trick Hulk and send him to destroy a distant planet without hurting any humans. On that planet, the Hulk is not alone and is captured to fight as a gladiator until he finds a way to return back to earth to enact his revenge.
Even though Whedon probably signed a non-disclosure agreement, preventing him from talking about the project, in a interview with IGN, the director couldn’t help but respond to the rumors saying, “Well, I’m not really supposed to comment, but no, that’s nonsense.”
Whedon went on to say that there’s already a story in place for the Avengers 2 and it isn’t all about the Hulk.
So, there you have it. That pretty much seals the deal right there. No stand-alone Hulk movie. Now I would like to ask the movie gods why they would make another Thor movie instead of one for the Hulk… SMH!!!
