Welp, the ink is probably still drying – Jimmy Fallon just closed a deal with NBC that will have him replace Jay Leno on The Tonight Show. 

While Fallon has a successful late, late night show, he admits, “I’m really excited to host a show that starts today instead of tomorrow.” While it’s clear Fallon is eager to take over the 11:30pm spot, he’ll have to wait until spring of 2014. According to Tyler Perry, casting reality-television star Kim Kardashian in his latest film “Temptation” may help to portray her as a ‘role model.’ Who knew?

Yahoo reports the filmmaker has received major backlash for giving Kardashian her first major acting gig in his latest film.

Many people believe that the backlash is justified based on Kadashian’s claim to fame as an amateur-porn-star-turned-reality-television-starlight. Perry, however, sees things differently.

Surprise, surprise: ratings for American Idol continue to drop, seemingly with each passing week, & not in a small way.

According to Entertainment Weekly, ratings for last Thursday’s show have dropped a whopping 50 percent since its premiere Thursday episode back in January.

In addition, the recent average rating given by the show’s target age group of adults ages 18-49 is at 2.8, an embarrassing low for the so-called reality talent scouting series. | Full Story

Here’s some news that’s sent the nerdosphere’s collective heart aflutter. Major movie star / minor writer/director / film festival mogul Robert Redford might end up having a role in the Captain America sequel.

Deadline reports that he’s “in discussions” with Marvel, which, contrary to what some other sites are reporting, is no guarantee that he’ll actually take the part.

Redford is being courted for a role as a member of the “senior leadership” of S.H.I.E.L.D., the military / espionage / superhero organization that directs the actions of the various major players in the Marvel cinematic universe. | Full Story
