Film Critic Roger Ebert Dies

The legendary movie critic, Roger Ebert, passed away today. He was 70 years old.

Ebert recently reported he’d be taking a “leave of presence” while receiving cancer treatment. As seen on Deadline.com, he also announced on his blog that he “must slow down.”

Despite thyroid cancer and subsequent complications, Ebert still managed to excel at his work. The critic wrote  movie reviews for a whopping 306 movies last year, calling it his “busiest year ever.” At times there could be as many as NINE movie reviews from the prolific critic in the Weekend section of the Sun-Times. | Full Story

‘Harry Potter’ Actor Richard Griffiths Has Died

British actor Richard Griffiths passed away yesterday after complications from heart surgery. He was 65 years old.

You probably recognize the actor as the uncle you loved to hate, Vernon Dursley, in five of the Harry Potter films. As seen in the LA Times, Griffiths is hailed as “One of the great British stage actors of his generation, a heavy man with a light touch, whether in Shakespeare or Neil Simon.” Griffiths earned a Tony for his performance in History Boys, starred alongside Daniel Radcliffe in Equus, and was most recently seen starring opposite Danny DeVito in The Sunshine Boys. He also appeared on various TV shows, including the 90′s British series about a crime solving chef, Pie In The Sky. | Full Story

‘Diff’rent Strokes’ Conrad Bain Dies at 89

Conrad Bain, the sweet and caring father on the 1978-1985 sitcom, Diff’rent Strokes, died of natural causes in his hometown of Livermore, California, on Monday. Bain was 89.

Bain’s daughter, Jennifer Bain, confirmed her father’s death to PEOPLE. She told the magazine of her father’s passing, saying “He’d been unconscious for a couple of days, but he was comfortable and it was very peaceful. I was able to be with him very close to the end [and] able to put my ear to his heart and sing him songs.”

Natina Reed, the actress who stared in Bing it On has died today according to MTV News.

It was reported that Reed died in the early morning of October 27 as a result in a hit-and-run accident while crossing the street in Atlanta, GA. Reed was known for her singing success in the group Blaque, who had hits like 808, Cant Get It Back and Bring it All To Me. Reen was also a mentoree for the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes who was also a singer in the group TLC. | Full Story

Sons of Anarchy actor Johnny Lewis, is dead after he allegedly fell of the roof of an 81-year-old’s woman’s home, who was also found beaten to death in her home.

TMZ reports that police are investigating whether it was Lewis who broke into the Los Feliz home of the elderly woman, killed her, and then fell of the roof to his death.

Authorities believe that Lewis was on some sort of drugs, maybe PCP or Crystal meth, attacked the woman then attacked two men with a 2′x4′ piece of wood, injuring one of them. | Full Story

Green Mile actor Michael Clarke Duncan has died at the age of 54, after never recovering from the heart attack he suffered on July 13th.

The brawny actor was well-known for his Oscar-nominated role as a death row inmate in The Green Mile. He also appeared in several other box office hits such as Armageddon, Planet of the Apes and Kung Fu Panda.

Michael Clarke Duncan died on Monday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was being treated for a heart attack, said his fiancée and reality star, Reverend Omarosa Manigault, in a statement released by publicist Joy Fehily. | Full Story

‘Top Gun’ Director Tony Scott Plunges To His Death In Apparent Suicide

Tony Scott has died on Sunday after jumping from a Los Angeles bridge, according to a statement by the LA County Coroner’s office.

The  68-year-old director, who was the younger brother of fellow director Ridley Scott, was witnessed by onlookers parking his car in one of the lanes of the Vincent Thomas Bridge then scaling a fence on the structure’s south side and jumping off without hesitation. ‘Jeffersons’ Actor Sherman Hemsley Dies At 74

Sherman Hemsley, the actor better known as George Jefferson died Tuesday at  the  age of 74.

According to his agent, Todd Frank, the actor died at his home in El Paso.  Police say there is no evidence of foul play and they are waiting on an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Born in 1938, Hemsley was a native of Philadelphia. He paid his way through drama school by working at the post office. | Full Story

Sylvester Stallone’s son suffered possible drug overdose.

Sylvester Stallone’s son, Sage Stallone,  has reportedly been found dead in his home in Los Angeles California . Source say the cause of death was due to a prescription drug overdose.

TMZ reports that Stallone is extremely distraught. His rep, Michelle Bega, made a statement saying, “Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone.  His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha.  Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man.  His loss will be felt forever.”

According to Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter, there were no signs of foul play or trauma, and no suicide note was found. | Full Story

‘The Parkers’ Actress Loses Battle With Cervical Cancer

Actress Yvette Wilson has died after losing her clash with cervical cancer. A source close to Wilson, Jeffrey Pittle, confirmed that she passed away on Thursday around 7 p.m.

Wilson was best known for her role as Andell on UPN’s hit TV show Moesha. The actress also played alongside comedian Mo’nique in The Parkers. As for movies, Wilson appeared in the films House Party 2, House Party 3 and Friday. | Full Story
