Tyra Banks’ ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Debuts With Unimpressive Ratings; Will This Be The Last Season?

tyra banks and americas next top model college edition cycle 19

Tyra Banks’ America’s Next Top Model has been given a makeover grander than any of the ones seen by any of the show’s previous contestants. So when the model competition returned for the 19th cycle with new judges, new stylists, new photo directors and a whole new format on a whole new night, hopes were very high the show would rebound from the big dip seen in the most recent seasons.

America’s Next top Model: College Edition premiered on TV’s least watched night and managed to draw in 1.26 million viewers. This may have been a decent performance considering the fact that the series debuted in late August on a Friday night, However, it may not be enough to return the show to the levels attained in its earliest seasons (5 million viewers).

So, does this less than stellar premier signals the end is nigh for America’s Next Top Model? Possibly! While Top Model has had a good run, it may just be that the supermodel is just not that interesting to Americans anymore, now that reality stars occupy their attention.

Tara Banks may not be able to save her show with makeovers and revamps, it may just be time to move on to the next thing.

Show is failing, and the loss of the previous judges is one of the reasons.

    Tyra needs to be replaced.

The addition of cut throat is a problem as well. The editing seemed to show her favoritism last year, and her snide comments are always unwelcome.

The fact that they are not casting the beautiful girls is also a problem. there are some less beautiful girls chosen every year, but the last two seasons seemed to take this to a new level. This college season was not so bad, however, there are some I would never have picked.
