A&E has pulled the plug on Breakout Kings, their crime drama which was on air for two seasons and 23 episodes.
Breakout Kings was an American drama television series, which aired on the A&E network. The series was created, written and executive-produced by Nick Santora and Matt Olmstead who previously worked on Prison Break together. Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope, and Gavin Hood also executive produced. The TV show centered on a crew of U.S. Marshals who cut deals with inmates to catch escaped convicts.
Malcolm J Goodwin, a star on the show, tweeted: “So Breakout Kings is canceled. Thx to all 4 the luv & support over the last 2 seasons! It’s been a fun experience! Much luv! On to the next.”
The cast also included Laz Alonso, who left the show early in the second season. Goodwin, Domenick Lombardozzi, Brooke Nevin, Serinda Swan, and Jimmi Simpson also starred on the TV series.
Breakout Kings debuted in March of 2011 with 2.8 million viewers. The ratings declined over the next few weeks and the first season finale received 2.01 million viewers.
